Formal Admission Requirements:
To the application procedure only applicants become admitted, who have:
- a Bachelor-degree (B. Eng) in Aerospace-Engineering or Mechanical-Engineering with correspondingly major-study
- a Diplom-Ingenieur-degree (Dipl.-Ing. FH or TU/TH) in Aerospace-Engineering or Mechanical-Engineering with correspondingly major-study
- a University-degree in another equivalent engineering study
For applicants with a Bachelor-degree of only 6 semesters, he/she has to apply for a four-semester master programme (with Research Semester). Further information regarding Research Semester can be found in "Research Semester".
A proof of English language skills is required for all applicants, whose native language or undergraduate studies is other than English. As proof of your English language ability, you must submit one of the following certificates:
- TOEFL with min. 79-80 score on the internet-based test or
- TOEFL with min. 213 score on the computer-based test or
- TOEFL with min. 550 score on the paper-based test or
- IELTS with min. 6.0 overall band score
Applicants with already available practical experiences (e.g. relevant professional training or study training periods) in fields of aerospace engineering are asked to especially notify this.
Application Procedure and Period
The following documents are to be submitted as an application portfolio to the university:
- Filled out application form
- Curriculum-Vitae (personal data sheet)
- Copy of certificate of the first university-degree with a complete study-subject and grade overview
- Applicants, whose study qualification was not achieved at a German-speaking university, must send a certified copy of the "Graduate Record Examination (GRE) - General Test" result.
- Study applicants, who did not acquire their study qualification at a German-speaking university, have to prove their German language knowledge latest at the time of immatrikulation at the AcUAS through a "Zertifikat Deutsch".
- Proof of English language skill (TOEFL/IELTS)
- Confirmation of the practical activity in the occupation and/or during the university education with certifications and job description
- Letter of Motivation (maximum one page). Please describe on one separate page as precisely as possible:
- What are your motivations/reasons to study in Germany?
- What are your motivations/reasons to study at AcUAS?
- Which are your expectations from the study at AcUAS?
- Which advantages do you expect from the study at AcUAS?
Certificates and confirmations can be submitted as certified copies in German or English language.
The application documents must be received by the AcUAS at the latest on:
- May 31st for the 4-semester master course (start with winter semester)
- November 30th for the 3- and 4-semester master courses (start with summer semester)

Study Admission and Enrolment
- Based on the final grade of the first university degree or respectively result of the GRE-test for foreign applicants, the certification of practical experience, previous technical knowledge and the motivation for the study the admissions for the master study will be given.
- The enrolment must be done personally at the Aachen University of Applied Sciences. The exact period will be announced to you in the study admission letter.
- Please note that by the time of enrolment the receipt voucher over paying the tuition fee (500€), the student activity fee (currently 199 €), which includes the contribution to the student union, the student welfare fund and the “semester ticket” for free local transportation, the proof/confirmation of a student health insurance and the language certificates are necessary.
Tuition Fee
Starting from the summer semester 2007 a tuition fee of 500€/semester will be raised.
